"What if everyone disobeyed the law?"
I am packing for 9 or so days in Mexico, which means there are bags and clothes and shoes strewn about as I whittle the options down into whatever will fit into the proscriptions of a carry on-only lifestyle.
I rarely ever check bags anymore, whether I’m travelling for work or for fun. Here’s an idea of what the bags I take with me will contain (for this trip, I am taking my Osprey Fairview 40 and my Osprey Tempest 20).
The Tempest 20 will go under the seat, and will hold:
some kind of versatile scarf + earplugs + eye mask.
The definition of a good scarf: keeps me warm on the plane; serves as a “I need to dress up this outfit” rescue accessory; can be a beach wrap in a push. I have different options for these depending on climate, including a drawer-full of the infinity scarves made from jersey fabrics and a particularly warm and brilliant invention with zippered pockets that is my go-to for Transatlantic flights.
